Description

Drop-out fuses (DOF) are used in high-voltage transformers and other electrical equipment. They protect the equipment from a short circuit or overload by breaking down when they reach a certain temperature. There are many different types of dropout fuses, each with its own characteristics and applications. The most common type is a 33KV dropout fuse that protects against overcurrents of up to 33KV in length. These fuses have an internal resistance of about 3 ohms and can withstand temperatures up to 200°C. They have a width of approximately 1mm, which makes them suitable for use in high-voltage transformers and other electrical equipment that may be exposed to extreme conditions. They are made from insulating materials such as polypropylene or sputtered silicon nitride, which makes them resistant to moisture and corrosive chemicals such as seawater, saltwater or chlorine gas exposure.
